Alison Oates is an accomplished Community Safety and Wellbeing Manager with over two decades of experience in public service, spanning law enforcement and local government leadership. She spent 12 years with Kent Police, rising to the rank of Detective Sergeant, where she led complex investigations and multi-agency operations. Her policing career was defined by a strong commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and driving systemic improvements in public safety.

Following her time in policing, Alison transitioned into local authority management, where she has spent the past 10 years leading strategic programmes focused on community wellbeing, safeguarding, and infrastructure development. Most notably, she has overseen the implementation of Electric Vehicle Charging Point (EVCP) infrastructure, ensuring that sustainability initiatives are delivered with a strong emphasis on safety, accessibility, and community impact.

As Chair of the EV Summit Round Table, Alison brings a unique blend of operational insight, strategic leadership, and a people-first approach to the conversation around electric mobility. Her ability to connect policy with practice makes her a trusted voice in shaping inclusive and resilient transport solutions.
